Dear Parents
This week has been a very short week with only 4 days of school. And perhaps it's no wonder that our class of Angelfish had been restless all week. They seemed to be impatient all week for some 'excitement' and it dawned on us at the end of the week that they had been waiting eagerly for UN Day!

Despite it being a shorter week than normal, we managed to accomplish much:
On Sunday, we worked on our Shapes Book then took time out to practice our play on the '3 Billy Goats Gruff" using Stick Puppets and including a Narrator. We found time to practice over three different groups. Unfortunately, videos can't be uploaded onto our blog just yet as our Tech Dept is working with Weebly for this upgrade; your understanding is greatly appreciated.
On Monday, we watched the videos of our practice run the day before and reflected on how we could act better or speak louder. We talked about audience etiquette (ie. clap after Narrator is done talking, etc) and actors' etiquette (ie. bow after performance).
We also worked further on our Shapes Book and revised on the number of sides for 'hexagon' and 'octagon'. Inbetween our activities, our children worked hard at decorating two birthday posters for our November birthday friends (ie. Keston and Ebube).

On Tuesday, we started our day with a celebration of Keston's birthday. We set time aside to create an artwork to emphasize on our unit 'Family & Friends' and why our family is important to us, what does it mean for a Prek4 schooler, and so on. This was followed by a fun art activity of painting a Turkey using our hands and fine-motor skills in cutting it out and creating a collage-picture. We learned about the words being thankful, grateful and appreciating our family, and what we have. Do check out our class bulletin board down the PreK corridor for your child's innermost thoughts on this topic; it's enllightening.
Finally, on Wednesday, all Angelfish came to school dressed in their countries' clothes - it was a colorful parade of nations indeed. Our class were great listeners seated right in front of the stage and watched the whole performance from start to end; it was a very proud achievement for them to not be restless and yet so attentive. Kudos to our Angelfish!
We came back to class and celebrated Ebube's birthday, singing the birthday song several times over, what fun! Phew! What a week we had!
Onward to Sunday when we shall start our 'Green Screen' filming and a embark on a soft approach to our impending move to the new 'temporary' classroom, yea!~

Lastly, please find below pictures taken during Roshini's visit as our Mystery Reader on Nov 29. She read the book 'The Little Blue Rabbit' by Angela McAllister. Roshini came decked in her hat and costume, what a riot! The children were so engaged throughout her story, fun! fun! fun! Thank you Roshini, we hope to see you again next year :)
